The aim is to go into a trance like state using relaxation to speak to the unconcious part of your mind. Hypnosis doesn't end once sessions do, you can continue to use self-hypnosis and techniques learned throughout.
It works in a subtle way but can work quicker than other methods and is less intrusive.
